After having 2 back to back awful performances at the Dallas and Houston marathons because of weather, I redeemed myself at the cowtown ultra. Yes, I did say because of the weather. The change in temperature affects me when I am not acclimated , I had been running in the cold and when it got hot and muggy at both of these races. This really threw me off my abilities.
Nevertheless, I had to prove myself I still had some fight in me. I felt really good on the start of the Cowtown to the point that I was going 6:05 for the first 3 miles. Then, I lowered my pace to 6:30 for a while, this gave me a great advantage . It was windy and a bit cold but not too cold.
I felt great and finished with great results.
